On 28th April, we opened the doors to our Liverpool headquarters and welcomed close to 100 guests to celebrate a milestone we’re incredibly proud of 20 years of dBS Solutions.
The day brought together clients, subcontractors, manufacturers, colleagues, students and friends of the business, giving us the opportunity to look back on two decades of growth while showcasing the technology, facilities and people that help make dBS what it is today.
Throughout the day, visitors were able to get hands-on with a range of equipment and demonstrations. Our TiMax spatial audio system was put through its paces with a specially prepared orchestral multitrack, accompanied by time coded lighting, creating an immersive demonstration of what’s possible with modern show technology. Guests also had the opportunity to experiment with ChamSys consoles running Capture visualisation software and explore the Palladium lighting rig, while our DiGiCo and Allen & Heath dLive consoles were loaded with multitrack sessions for engineers to get behind the desk and have some fun.
Alongside the technology, manufacturers were on hand throughout the day to discuss projects, answer questions and share insights into the latest developments across the industry. Of course, there was also plenty of fantastic food thanks to our friends at Event Catering, helping create a relaxed atmosphere that encouraged conversations and networking throughout the day.
The feedback since the event has been overwhelming. Many guests commented on the balance of the day, providing an opportunity to discover new technology, meet new people, reconnect with old friends and gain a behind the scenes look at how we deliver projects. For many of our clients, it was the first time they had seen the scale of the planning, preparation and infrastructure that supports the events they attend.
Reflecting on the day, Managing Director Chris Bogg said:
“Looking back over the years at the events we’ve done and the people we’ve worked with, it’s incredible to see. The growth of our company and some of the projects we’ve been able to deliver I would never have dreamed of when starting out in my dad’s garage. One of the highlights for me was seeing so many people who have been instrumental in the story of dBS Solutions come back and celebrate with us. We’ve been fortunate to work with some incredible engineers and technicians over the years, many of whom have passed through our doors and helped shape the company we are today. Looking ahead, it’s exciting to think about where the next 20 years might take us.”
Preparation Technician George added:
“It’s been great to be able to show off our facilities to all our clients and friends. It was also a fantastic opportunity for our team to meet clients and manufacturers face to face, ask questions and learn more about the products and projects we’re involved with.”
While the day was intended as a celebration of our 20th anniversary, it became much more than that. It was an opportunity to thank the people who have supported us throughout the journey, strengthen existing relationships, create new ones and share our passion for the industry we love.
