The annual festivities for Chinese New Year celebrations in Birmingham this February welcomed the year of the Dog and included a street party in the city’s Chinese Quarter. dBS provided full production for The Chinese Festival and were pleased to again be working with our friends at The Birmingham Hippadrome on this great community event.
The festival was within Birmingham’s Chinatown which is near the Hippodrome Theatre. dBS Solutions supported some of the activities such as the Lion Dances by providing the Main Festival Stage with lighting and sound for the Hippodromes co-produced activities. We provided a 10m portable stage for the event along with power, lighting and audio from our new dB Technologies VIO line array system. dBS Solutions project manager Sam Edwards was on hand throughout the events planning and instalation to oversee things.
The Festival Committee is a non-profit making organisation dedicated to organising the celebrations in Birmingham. For the 2018 event there was lots of activities which included Lion dancing, a fire act, acrobats, street food, traditional lantern making and funfair rides.
