Warrington Music Festival 2018 organised by Score Creative Education in partnership with The Golden Square kicked off a celebration of music featuring headliner the Fun Lovin Criminals’ on the 5th May, it was believed to be the biggest, ticket-less music festival in the North West.
After some time away, dBS Solutions were delighted to return to supply full production to the festival which also hosted dozens of emerging bands from Warrington in the Old Market Place.
Fun Lovin Criminals were at the festival as part of their UK and European tour this summer and went down a storm with the Warrington crowds.
After initial talks and a site visit dBS Solutions designed a flown PA system comprising of twenty boxes of dB Technologies VIO l210 line array modules along with a delayed broadside array of Martin Audio ws218x subs to look after the low energy. “during the day time it’s important we are able to control the low frequency energy of the music, so the shops and restaurants around the site are able to trade with little interruption” says dBS Solutions director Chris Bogg. ” The tight pattern control and networking software of the VIO L210 along with the broadside array of subs helps us control where the energy goes and allows us to steer this away from the sides and rear which has worked really well.” he adds. On stage was a mixture of D&B m4 wedge monitors along with Martin W8LM side fills and Martin XD15 drum fill. We provided control both out front and on stage with a pair of Digico SD9 consoles which kept all the visiting engineers very happy. We’ve also had some very positive comments on the sound of the festival and the system which has been great to hear.
On lighting, our lighting designer Danny Burrows chose to use our range of Robe robin 600 spots and LED washes to great effect. Complimenting these was a selection of Chauvet LED fixtures, Sun strips and Atomic strobes. Control was through our Chamsys MQ100 and wings with networking infrastructure courtesy of Chauvet nodes.
The project was a great success managed by our PM Sam Edwards. Thanks to the dBS Team of Terry Smith, Jethro Hall, Danny Clare, Matt Chisholm, Danny Burrows and James Phillips.
